SIPEX is one of the largest building materials distributors from Romania, with national distribution, supported by 12 logistics centers, its own car fleet of 191 vehicles, 12 coloring laboratories and a team for specialized technical consultancy.

SIPEX was founded in 1997 by the entrepreneur Irinel Constantin Gheorghe and starting June 2022 is listed on the Bucharest Stock Exchange, on AeRO market, following a private placement through which it attracted 10.6 million lei from 54 investors.

The activity of the company started in Prahova. SIPEX currently has approximately 300 employees and owns 12 logistics centers that function as work and sales points: Brasov, Bucuresti, Cluj, Craiova, Iasi, Ilfov (Pantelimon), Focsani, Piatra Neamt, Prahova (Aricestii Rahtivani), Ramnicu Valcea, Suceava, Timisoara.

The company operates with an integrated business model, organized in 3 business lines: sales and distribution of construction materials and finishes, services (technical consultancy) and sales of colored finished products. The sales and distribution activity is carried out through 3 channels: traditional retail, business to business and online. Traditional retail is represented by stores of different sizes other than DIY (Do It Yourself). Sales to these stores are made through dedicated agents. The B2B (corporate) market segment includes construction companies, developers, state or private institutions, teams of craftsmen and individuals, who build under their own supervision or renovate their properties. Since 2019, the company has a channel dedicated to this segment, sipexcomenzi.ro, which aims to simplify the sales process to existing partners and reduce operational costs, by offering self-service facilities.

The company also offers technical consultancy and has the ability to represent and promote the products of a new supplier on the Romanian market both on the commercial and technical side, as well as from a logistical point of view distribution. The finished colored products are made in the computerized coloring laboratories in each logistic center.

The company has been selling a wide range of products, both international brands and its own brands such as “”Mesterica”” and “”Profit”” brands since 2013. Among the brands distributed by SIPEX are: Ceresit, Rigips, Isover, Weber, Cesarom, Swisspor, Austrotherm, Baumit, Porotherm, Tondach, Brikston, Ytong, Leier, Structo, Tenco, Sapabet, Aco, Holver, Kronospan, Romstal.

The main categories of products sold are adhesives and mortars, hydro insulation and thermal insulation, metals, heavy materials, and plasterboard.

The own brand “”Mesterica”” contains products from the category Adhesives/Plasters/Mortars and expanded polystyrene (EPS), as well as washable paints/primers/plasters.

SIPEX has attracted and selected, from the beginning, internationally recognized companies with which it developed long-term partnerships (Henkel Romania – for over 20 years, Saint-Gobain Construction Products Romania (for over 15 years), SANEX SA, Knauf, Austrotherm, Swisspor SA, Baumit Romania, Wienerberger, Tondach Romania, Brikston Construction Solutions SA, Holcim SA, ACO, Holver, Kronospan Trading, Romstal. SIPEX also holds the licenses Düfa and Profitec and sells washable paints, primers under this brand on the Romanian and Bulgarian markets, following the conclusion of a 10-year exclusivity agreement with the German group Meffert AG in 2017.

The products from the SIPEX portfolio are made in several factories, depending on the offers, their capacities and services.
