ARIR supports companies from AeRO market and bond issuers with dedicated working groups under the guidance of a new Board of Directors

The Romanian Investors Relations Association (ARIR), the only professional association in Romania dedicated to best practices in investors relations, announces the new composition of the Board of Directors and the new strategy through which it will contribute more intensively to the development of the Romanian capital market. Therefore, ARIR will focus to meet the needs of the companies from AeRO market and those that issue bonds and support with expertise and increasing visibility in the capital market.

Daniela Șerban has been reconfirmed ARIR President by the General Assembly and will continue to coordinate the implementation of the Association’s strategy for the next 2 years. The Board of Directors has a new member: Monica Ivan, BRK Financial Group. Ana-Maria Imbrea, ALRO – ARIR Vice President; Ioan Șumandea – Banca Transilvania – ARIR Vice President, Adrian Tănase, Bucharest Stock Exchange and Tony Romani were reconfirmed. The mandates of the Board of Directors are for 2 years to ensure continuity in the implementation of the strategy and vision of the community.

Daniela Șerban, ARIR President and Co-founder:
“We have continuously innovated and proactively implemented project to meet the needs of the local capital market. Today we are 29 members, the largest listed companies in Romania, and with our experience and expertise we aim to support the smaller companies from the capital market, the new pool of companies that are coming with openness and initiative and will represent the engine of the economy. We aim to facilitate the access to financing and support as many companies as possible to grow in order to become more attractive. We will also work more closely with companies from AeRO market and bond issuers to meet investors’ needs in terms of communication, transparency and sustainable corporate governance.”

Ana-Maria Imbrea, ALRO, ARIR Vice President:
“ARIR has been actively involved in educating and encouraging companies to adopt best practices in ESG. In 2020, we recognized for the first time the performance of listed companies in terms of sustainability and awarded the “Best Sustainability Report”. We have worked with our members and developed a Responsible Business Guidelines to support issuers and the general public, with more details and concepts related to ESG and expectations for listed companies.”

Ioan Șumandea, Banca Transilvania, ARIR Vice President:

“Our community advocates for a regulatory environment that supports listed companies and encourages the access of capital market financing. We have worked closely with the regulator and submitted proposals on processes simplification, online General Meeting of Shareholders (GMS), etc. We are constantly in dialogue at European level and we are glad to benefit from EuropeanIssuers’ expertise in order to build well-functioning European capital markets and able to offer flexibility to properly calibrate corporate governance requirements for companies.”

ARIR members have access to exclusive content for the implementation of best practices in Investor Relations and Corporate Governance, and trainings tailored to their needs and IR objectives, participate at projects aimed to develop the capital market. In ARIR are invited to join: as Associate Members – listed companies, pre-IPO or bond issuers, as Affiliate Members – other companies than the listed ones, pre-IPO or bond issuers, and as Professional Members – individuals with experience in investor relations.

ARIR was founded at the initiative of Daniela Șerban in November 2018 together with the founding members: Bucharest Stock Exchange (BVB), ALRO, Electromagnetica, Franklin Templeton Management – Bucharest office, Hidroelectrica, Nuclearelectrica, Teraplast, Transelectrica, Cosmin Răduță and Tony Romani. Electrica, OMV Petrom, Antibiotice, Purcari, Idea Bank, BRK Financial Group, Banca Transilvania, Transgaz, Biofarm, MedLife, Romcarbon and Farmaceutica REMEDIA joined the community as Associate Members. INNOVA Project Consulting, ENVISIA, RTPR, Intercapital Invest, eVote and Mazars became Affiliate Members.
