Bucharest, June 6, 2019 – The Romanian Investor Relations Association (ARIR), the only professional association for best practices in investor relations in Romania, is proud to welcome Electrica SA (BVB:EL, LSE:ELSA), as Associate Member. With more than 120-year experience on the Romanian energy market, being a market leader in electricity distribution and supply, Electrica SA is listed both on Bucharest Stock Exchange and London Stock Exchange since July 2014.

In less than one-month Electrica will celebrate 5 years since the IPO, the largest listing on the Romanian Stock Exchange. Since the beginning, we were dedicated to implement a state-of-the-art investor relations program, with the aim to become a model for the Romanian capital market. Therefore, our decision to join ARIR is in line with our goals and we are confident that this membership will assist us in creating value for our shareholders. Together with our new colleagues in the Association, we can find the best IR tools and techniques and we can apply best practices in investor relations and corporate governance. On the long run, we all want to improve the way the Romanian listed companies are perceived by both the local and the international investor community.

ARIR was set-up in November 2018 by eleven founding members: listed companies, companies with potential to become listed companies, fund managers and IR professionals.

At ARIR, we are focusing on 5 key directions: assessment of investors’ perception related to listed companies, improvement of companies’ presentation, monitoring the legislative framework and supporting members’ opinions, strengthening links with investor and analyst communities and together with the companies that join our organization, we will support the development of the Romanian capital market and the implementation of the best practices in IR.

Electrica SA joins an elite group of listed companies, members of the Association, such as Bucharest Stock Exchange, ALRO, Electromagnetica, Nuclearelectrica, Teraplast and Transelectrica.

ARIR currently offers 3 types of memberships: as Associate Members, for listed companies, pre-IPO or bond issuers, as Affiliate Members, for other organisations than listed companies, pre-IPO or bond issuers, and as Professional Members, for individuals with experience in investor relations. ARIR members have access to exclusive content and trainings tailored to their needs and objectives, and participate at projects aimed to develop the capital markets.
