Rompetrol joins ARIR

Bucharest, May 5th, 2022 – ARIR, the only association specialized in Investor Relations from Romania, a community of the most important companies listed on the Bucharest Stock Exchange, announces a partnership with a new member, Rompetrol (KMG International Group). Two companies within the Group, Rompetrol Rafinare (BVB: RRC) and Rompetrol Well Services (BVB: PTR), are listed on the Bucharest Stock Exchange, on the main market.

With over 5.000 employees, KMG International is an integrated oil and gas company with operations in 11 main markets throughout Europe and Central Asia. In Romania, the group is present with three production units, an extensive fuel distribution network, and industrial service activities.

Rompetrol Rafinare (RRC), member company of KMG International, operates 2 refineries – Petromidia, the most modern refinery in Romania and Vega – with a history of over 110 years, combining new oil processing technologies with the experience of a professionals’ team. The supply of crude-oil from Kazakhstan is made through the Midia port, located in the proximity of the industrial platform, which can receive up to 150.000 tdw or through Constanța port. The refinery has a marine terminal and railway and car facilities for charging/ discharging the products.

Rompetrol Well Services (PTR) is one of the most important special well services companies in Romania. It provides a wide range of services for oil and gas wells in Romania and Eastern Europe (cementing, consolidation and packaging operations, stimulation, testing, instrumentation, well piping operations, etc.). Rompetrol Well Services was founded in 1951 as a state-owned company under the Ministry of Petroleum and Chemistry, under the name “ICOTS – Întreprinderea de Cimentări, Operaţiuni si Transporturi Speciale”. Since 1990, the company has become Petros Ploiești trading company and has been listed on the Bucharest Stock Exchange since 1998. Rompetrol Group (now KMG International) took over the majority stake in 2000, with a 73% stake.

ARIR was founded at the initiative of Daniela Șerban in November 2018 together with the founding members: Bucharest Stock Exchange (BVB), ALRO, Electromagnetica, Franklin Templeton Management – Bucharest office, Hidroelectrica, Nuclearelectrica, Teraplast, Transelectrica and Tony Romani. Electrica, OMV Petrom, Antibiotice, Purcari, Idea Bank, BRK Financial Group, Banca Transilvania, Transgaz, MedLife, Romcarbon, Farmaceutica REMEDIA, Autonom, IMPACT Developer & Contractor, 2Performant, One United Properties, Transport Trade Services, Patria Bank, Connections Consult and BRD – Groupe Société Générale joined the community as Associate Members. INNOVA Project Consulting, ENVISIA, RTPR, Intercapital Invest, eVote, Mazars and Marsh Insurance – Reinsurance Broker became Affiliate Members.

ARIR Members are among the largest companies in Romania, which have in common the desire to implement the best practices of transparency, communication with investors and corporate governance.
