The National Gas Transmission Company TRANSGAZ SA is the licensed technical operator of the National Gas Transmission System in Romania, responsible for ensuring safe, efficient, transparent, and non-discriminatory transmission of natural gas, in accordance with national and European laws and the highest standards of quality, performance, environment, and sustainable development.

Today, Transgaz is a group of companies consisting of SNTGN Transgaz SA, Transport România Hidrogen SRL, and Petrostar SA in Romania, as well as Eurotransgaz SRL and Vestmoldtransgaz SRL in the Republic of Moldova, being the only natural gas transmission system operator that operates entirely on the territory of two states: Romania, a European Union member state, and the Republic of Moldova, a non-EU state in the process of accession.

The company’s growing importance, both as a driver of the national economy and as a key factor in the development of the energy sector, is reflected in an extensive investment programme in natural gas transmission infrastructure, one of the largest in recent decades. Transgaz is responsible for some of the most important energy infrastructure projects in Romania.
