Bucharest, May 29, 2024: ARIR (the Romanian Investor Relations Association), the promoter of the Investor Relations (IR) concept, presents the expectations of companies listed on the Bucharest Stock Exchange from future Romanian and European Parliament members in the context of this year’s elections. The document prepared by ARIR includes 5 priorities resulting from consultations with issuers in the Romanian capital market, summarized as follows: Vision, Financing, Transparency, Efficiency, and Education.
- Vision: Reflecting the vision and interest regarding the development of the capital market in electoral programs, strategies, and government policies.
- Financing: Increasing the competitiveness of the Romanian business environment by facilitating and stimulating access to financing through the stock exchange for development, innovation, green transition, and digitalization.
- Transparency: Improving corporate governance standards by promoting increased transparency of listed companies, both state-owned and private.
- Efficiency: Reducing bureaucracy and administrative reporting and regulatory burdens for companies listed on the stock exchange.
- Education: Expanding the base of informed individual investors through financial education of consumers, fostering minimum capital protection rules, and risk-taking.
ARIR announces its support for the competent institutions in the development of public policies and legislation regarding the capital market from the early stages of informing and consulting stakeholders and expresses openness to support public consultation processes with community resources.
The year 2024 is essential for addressing these issues, as, amidst the organization of all types of elections within a short period, the priorities of future decision-makers for the coming years are being analysed. The full document can be consulted here.
