ARIR launches the “Upgrade IR by ARIR” program dedicated to investor relations specialists

Bucharest, February 7th, 2024 – The Romanian Investor Relations Association (ARIR) announces the launch of the „Upgrade IR by ARIR” program for developing Investor Relations (IR) professionals in Romania. The first pillar of the program is the exchange of experience with professionals and the acquisition of complementary skills necessary for a good Investor Relations specialist. Thus, ARIR invites specialists in the field of Investor Relations or those interested in developing a professional career in IR to a one-day training on “The fundamentals of Investor Relations Activity and Trends in IR”, led by experts in the field, on March 4, 2024, in Bucharest.

Participants will have the opportunity to delve into the following aspects: The role and responsibilities of the Investor Relations professionals – anchoring the activity in the Romanian and international capital markets; The tools used for effective communication with both institutional and individual investors; The basic principles of corporate governance with an impact on IR activities; The regulatory framework applicable to listed companies – evaluating information within the company; The collaboration with a broker, understanding trading data, and Market Making services.

The training team that will support the program is formed of 5 professionals with extensive experience in the capital market and related fields and will offer a 360-degree perspective on the Investor Relations activity. The training team includes the following persons:

  • Daniela Maior (Șerban), President, ARIR, MP VERTIK Group – An economist with over 17 years of experience in the capital market, she will address the responsibilities of Investor Relations professionals, trends, as well as the dynamics of the Romanian capital market.
  • Loredana Chitu, Capital Markets Partner, Dentons – A recognized lawyer in the field of capital market legislation, she will discuss the legislative framework of the coordination of the Investor Relations activity and legal obligations in communication with investors.
  • David Westover, Independent Consultant, United Kingdom – With over 10 years of experience in leading one of the most successful Investor Relations and communication agencies in London, he will present to participants aspects related to structuring an equity story and presenting the company to produce results in the context of an international audience.
  • Marius Dan, Deputy CEO Romania, Corporate Strategy, Franklin Templeton – With over 17 years of experience in the asset management industry, he will speak about ways to present the company and engage with both local and foreign institutional investors to maximize results in IR.
  • Paul Știopei, Deputy CEO, BRK Financial Group – An experienced professional in the capital market, who coordinates the trading activities of the only broker (SSIF) listed on the Bucharest Stock Exchange (BVB). He will present information about brokerage and Market Making services and their impact on IR activities.
